Game Recap

The JV Titans scored a momentous victory Monday, knocking off the Buccaneers of Mainland High. This marks the programs first win against the Bucs since its’ inception in 2010. The Titan Offense found success through the air and on the ground amassing over 300 total yards (225 rushing, 84 passing). After the Bucs struck first in the 2nd quarter, the Titans answered right back with an 85 yard drive capped by a RB Jameel Peterson 10-yard TD run. Both Peterson and RB Jackson Baker had over 100 yards rushing on the day. The Titans scored again in the 3rd quarter to take a 14-7 lead when QB Ethan Lasher found WR Kaleb Blair running wide open for a 36 yard strike. RB Jameel Peterson and the Toon Squad converted the 2 point play. With 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Bucs missed a 39 yard Field Goal attempt that would have given them the lead. The Titans responded with an 80 yard Touchdown drive to take the lead. After a 25 yard run by RB Jackson Baker to the Mainland 5 yard line, Jameel Peterson and the Toon Squad scored on 4th and Goal from the 10, then scored on the 2 Point Conversion when LB/FB Jack D’Errico found TE Nate Boerboom .
The Titan Defense had several key standouts on the day. The Mainland running game was thwarted by Defensive Ends Jeremiah Hayes and Logan Haner. Linebacker Jack D’Errico was flying around making tackles from sideline to sideline and LB Jaron Crafton made tackles in key moments for the Titans. In the secondary, Cornerbacks Brett Baker and Cristian Vinciguerra recorded several pass break ups and QB Ethan Lasher intercepted a pass at Safety to put the game away.
The Titans have a quick turnaround this week, as they resume action Wednesday night as they travel to Harmony High School for a 7PM game.
