The temperatures are getting cooler and the athletes are running faster. It’s going to be a great month as we ease into the home stretch of 2019 Cross Country.
Attendance at practices and meets has been great! Thank you to all of the athletes and parents for setting aside the time and effort to commit to your team.
An additional “thank you” is in order for everyone’s part in the success of our Home Meet. We have received very positive feedback (other than The Hills) and had such a fun morning hosting. It is rare to have so many families step up to be involved. This Cross Country “family” is just incredible.
Thank you all for your time, and thank you, athletes, for running so strong.
As Winter sports begin conditioning, please remember your attendance at those sessions cannot be made mandatory. If anyone has questions regarding a specific sport or schedule, I will be happy to answer them and work with the Winter sport’s coach.
There were revisions to our meet schedule, due to last month’s cancellations. Please double-check to make sure you are aware.
**Practices will remain M-F, after school, through the District meet (10/26). Based on those results, revisions may be made for the following week(s).
Tue/Thur morning practices will resume 10/08 at Mill Lake Park.
**Saturday, 10/05 is a meet-free day, for us. It is also the day of the UHS Homecoming Parade. Athletes are encouraged to wear Cross Country gear and support the school. As a team, we will not be marching, this year.
**Wednesday, 10/09 is the Volusia/Flagler Freshman/Sophomore Championship. Upperclassmen are encouraged but not required to attend. After school practice, TBA.
**All athletes should plan to run the 10/09, 10/12 and 10/16 meets, unless otherwise instructed. Details regarding the District Meet (10/26) eligibility can be found in the handbook, and will be discussed at upcoming practices.
**More information will be provided regarding our upcoming Senior Celebration. Homecoming involves a lot of action and we don’t want to overload everyone’s busy schedules.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
