The following is a copy, with notes, of what students were given during our 11/05 Interest Meeting.  Reach out with any additional questions. Copies of this document, as well as the required paperwork, can be picked up in Coach Copes’s classroom (1c-110) and/or the Athletics/Activities office. (Mr. Weaver)

2020 UHS Titans Track & Field Pre-Season Information 

November 12:  Conditioning begins. No one will be able to participate without all paperwork being turned in and current. (EL2, EL3, NFHS videos : Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Related Illness, Concussion in Sports) 

-Must be in proper attire: running shoes (spikes not necessary unless specified by a coach), full shirt (no crops) for all athletes, pants or shorts that adequately cover and are comfortable for both running and circuit training. Any athlete without proper attire will be unable to practice that day. 

-Please bring water.

-All conditioning at UHS track, unless otherwise scheduled. 

-Mondays& Fridays : 4-5:00pm. Early Release Wednesdays: 3-4pm. Head to the track, dressed and ready, asap. We will typically take roll, collect paperwork, etc closer to 3:45 and start working, promptly, by 4pm.

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30-7:30am (see above and change time to 6:30am) 

**No Group Conditioning During Nov. 25-29**

-December 2: Conditioning resumes. 12/19-01/06 TBA 

-January 20: Official start of season

February 3: Pay-to-Play deadline

Week of 04/11: Last regular season meet. Post-season (Districts, Regionals, States) begin the following week, for eligible athletes, only. 

Conditioning is not mandatory, but highly recommended. During season, athletes must be able to commit to at least 3 team practices, per week, to be eligible for competition. 

Any students interested in joining the Track and Field team should plan to join for the conditioning, if possible.

Regular season practice and meet schedules will be posted in January. We will also conduct an informative meeting, with parents included, prior to the start of the season.

The GroupMe app will be updated with weather cancellations and/or location changes. Please download and have yourself added, if you’re not already.

Christmas Break and January conditioning schedules will be given prior to 12/19. 

If you’re planning to join the team, and are unable to attend conditioning, please get in a few workouts during your week. When the season begins, in January, we will be getting straight to training and expect all athletes to be ready and able.
